Anti-pattern: this is a series of posts in which I would want to collect my thoughts on anti-patterns that I've seen in software engineering based on my personal experience in the industry. It is for reminding both myself and my fellow software engineers to avoid such pitfalls going forward.
I'd like to preface this series by a reminder to myself that it's not productive to give non-construtive criticism. For any anti-pattern I note down, I'm obliged to find some alternative solutions, be it flawed or not, to at least offer my personal perspective on how to solve the problem better.
So today's alternative solution: offer an alternative solution!
